Rufford Ford The car killing Ford River

Rufford Ford is approximately 16 to 20 meter in lengths across and has a strong concrete base. There is a full set of signs displaying "Ford" and it can easily transform into "Road ahead closed" during the heavy flood. There is a small bridge for pedestrian. The side bridge also used by Cyclists and sometimes by the motorcycles.
Ford is on a busy stretch of road and at least 10 to 30 cars passes per hour. It is, in dry weather, about half a foot deep. The ford is next to the mill at Rufford Park with plenty of space to park a tea shop with card only payment and a duck feeding place for children.
